“...rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion.” - bell hooks

In communion with caregivers, I help create a space for children to heal and to develop and refine their skills to surf some of the more difficult and challenging waves of life. I know that seeking steady ground for ourselves and our loved ones during times of uncertainty or hardship is an act of courage and sometimes a leap of faith. In my work with clients, I meet their courage by showing up with compassion, authenticity, and a belief in their ability to heal.

Each healing path is different, and I honor that by incorporating creativity, curiosity, cultural responsivity, and deep listening to help children and their families identify and work towards their chosen healing goals. With a foundation of trust, acceptance, and commitment to collaborative effort, we can get there together!

Most often I work with clients who have experienced identity-based traumas, toxic stress, difficult transitions, and anxiety. I find joy in working with children and their families; in all the shapes and forms a family can take, I also have experience and enjoy working with adults.

I completed an MSW at Arizona State University in 2013 and am entering into my final years as a PhD student at Michigan State University. I am trained in EMDR, TF-CBT and mindfulness-and acceptance-based approaches including MBCT, and ACT. To better support the evolving needs of children I am exploring the integration of DBT to support emotional reactivity, and I recently began training to become a registered play therapist (RPT).
