Therapist Spotlight: Gabriela Mueller, LMSW

It was important to me to cultivate a space that I would feel comfortable showing up to for my first therapy appointment or sending a family member or friend to.

What book are you currently reading?

I have a habit of starting multiple books at once and eventually finishing all of them. Right now I’m reading Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt and All About Love by bell hooks.

What do you like to do outside of the therapy room?

I love spending as much time outdoors and in nature as I can in my free time. I enjoy being outside during all of the seasons in Michigan, but especially during the summer and fall. On the weekends you will find me going for hikes with my dog, reading, playing board games, trying out a new recipe, or relaxing with friends and family. Other days I may catching up on Abbott Elementary and reality TV or working on a random craft like embroidery, knitting, or painting.

Why did you start Create Space Therapy?

I wanted to start a group practice that therapists felt supported, connected, and excited about the work they did with individuals and their community. It was important to me to cultivate a space that I would feel comfortable showing up to for my first therapy appointment or sending a family member or friend to.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

I would love to visit Patagonia. I think it would be really cool to go for a hike through glaciers, admire the penguins from afar, and kayak around fjords.
